Chairman, Excelsior Group
Dr. Felix Olale, M.D., Ph.D., is the Chairman for the Excelsior Group, a capital advisory and investment group focused on investments in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Olale also serves as Managing Director for Excelsior’s Healthcare Business. His work is focused on unlocking private sector investment in Sub-Saharan Africa by streamlining local regulations and developing innovative business financing and growth models, including public-private partnerships (PPPs).
In addition to his work at Excelsior, Dr. Olale serves in several advisory positions including the World Bank / IFC group’s Healthcare for Africa Initiative, Kenya’s Ministry of Industrialization’s Investment Climate, and as incoming Academic Director for Strathmore University’s African Institute for Healthcare Management and Leadership. Dr. Olale also advises emerging market focused Private Equity firms, top 5 global pharmaceutical companies, and not-profit institutions such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and President Bill Clinton’s Health Access Initiative.
Prior to Excelsior, Dr. Olale was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company in New York, and had a dual role as a leader in both the Pharmaceutical and Medical Products Practice and the Global Public Health Practice.
Dr. Olale received his Medical Degree and Doctorate from NYU School of Medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania where he was a University Scholar.
